Niagara Falls Police responded to Target around 3pm on February 8th after reports of a shoplifter.
While en route, dispatch advised officers that the suspect was a white female who entered a black Chevy Equinox and fled eastbound on Niagara Falls Boulevard. Officers located the vehicle at Delta Sonic and spotted a female matching the suspect’s description. Unfortunately for the suspect, they could not make it into the car wash fast enough to hide.
Officers located a female passenger who was detained and placed in the rear of a patrol vehicle. The stolen merchandise was located inside of the vehicle.
The driver claimed to have no knowledge that the items were not paid for and was permitted to leave the scene. The female suspect was transported to Target and positively identified.
The total value of items stolen was $528.94. She was issued an appearance ticket. However, officers found that she had a warrant out of Orchard park and was transported to their custody.
No further information is available at this time.
