Woman Safe After Abduction Outside Walden Galleria Mall


An adult woman who was abducted outside the Walden Galleria on Monday evening is now safe at home, according to Cheektowaga Police. The incident occurred just before 7pm.


Initial reports suggest that the woman may have been taken with the intent of forcing her to withdraw money from a bank. Fortunately, the victim was able to contact police immediately after the incident. As of now no arrests have been made. Detectives are working to identify the individual responsible for the abduction.



Many details surrounding the case remain unclear including whether the victim and the perpetrator were known to each other. There has also been no confirmation as to where outside of the mall it took place or whether there was a threat of physical harm/use of a weapon.


In response to the incident, the Walden Galleria released the following statement: "Safety continues to be our highest priority at Walden Galleria as we work closely with Cheektowaga Police in the investigation of this incident. As this is an ongoing investigation, we will not be commenting further at this time."
