Niagara Falls Police responded to Citgo on the 700 block of Main Street around 11:30am on September 23rd after reports of a larceny.
Upon arrival, officers spoke to the complainant who stated she used the ATM approx. 30-40 minutes before law enforcement’s arrival. She stated she withdrew $80 cash but forgot to take the money from the dispenser when she left.
She realized that she did not have the money when she was a few blocks away and called the store. They advised her that there was no money in the ATM. She also stated an additional $20 was missing from her account.
Officers spoke with staff who showed them security footage of the incident. According to the video, at 10:16am the woman uses the ATM and leaves, but you cannot tell whether or not she retrieved the money due to someone standing next to her that blocked a clear view.
At about 10:22am a black female enters and begins to use the ATM and you can see her retrieve money, but it is unclear if it was money she withdrew or the complainant’s.
There are no known suspects. No further information is available at this time.
