Woman barred from Walmart tries to pull a fast one on unsuspecting employee

A Niagara Falls Police officer was working secondary employment at Walmart around 1:30pm on October 23rd when asset protection notified him of a shoplifting in progress.

The asset protection officer stated that a female who entered the store with no merchandise walked to the infant department, took a crib and bed set off the shelf and proceeded to the customer service department. There, the female informed customer service that she was going to exchange the merchandise for a different crib.

With store credit, she returned to the infant department and selected another crib and bed set off the shelf and attempted to exchange the merchandise without rendering payment. The female was then detained and brought to the asset protection office.

Upon investigation, the female was found to have a prior trespass notice on file at Walmart. She was transported to police headquarters for booking and processing. The total value of merchandise was $178.84. All merchandise was returned to Walmart for resale.

A full list of charges was not included. However, violating the existing trespass notice would result in a more serious charge than petit larceny. No further information is available at this time.
