Walmart Shopper Arrested after Eating $5 Hot Meal and Walking Out


Niagara Falls Police responded to Walmart on October 16th around 2pm after reports of a shoplifter in custody.


Upon arrival, officers were met by the loss prevention agent who stated that a black male was observed consuming a prepped hot deli meal in the shoe department. He left the packaging behind among the shoes.



The male passed all points of purchase without paying for the food, which was already inside his stomach. It was at this time he was approached by asset protection and escorted back inside.


Officers placed the male under arrest and transported him to police headquarters for booking and processing. The meal was valued at $5.97.



He was released with an appearance ticket. No further information is available at this time.
