A Niagara Falls Police officer was working off-duty security at Walmart around 8pm on December 16th when asset protection approached him regarding a theft in progress.
According to Asset Protection, a male was observed utilizing a tool to cut a spider wrap security device off of a computer. The male was then observed proceeding to the Home and Living exit where he passed all points of sale without paying for the computer.
Immediately after exiting the store he was approached by asset protection who recovered the stolen merchandise and escorted the male to the asset protection office.
The male was charged with grand larceny 4th and criminal mischief 4th. He was issued an appearance ticket returnable at Niagara Falls City Court. No further information is available at this time.
