Visitors in Downtown Niagara Falls Become Victims of Vehicle Theft

Niagara Falls Police responded to the 100 block of Niagara Street around 0100 hours on Sunday, July 31st, 2022, for reports of a larceny from a vehicle.
Upon arrival, police spoke to complainant who stated that his vehicle was broken into and his mother’s purse was stolen. Complainant further stated that his wife, children and mother were in Niagara Falls visiting from out of state when he parked his car in a parking lot to walk around the Falls around the 0130 hours on Saturday, July 30th, 2022. The complainant believes the vehicle was locked but upon returning to the vehicle he noticed that the rear passenger’s door did not lock.
The complainant noticed the entire vehicle has been gone through and his mother’s purse was gone. The purse contained $440 in cash, two debit cards and personal papers. Complainants mother then checked her bank account and two transactions have been processed around 1800 hours. Transaction one occurred at Seneca One Stop for $987 total and transaction two happened at Target for $705 total.
