Victim Punched in the Face by Unknown Male at Waterfront Park, Never Got Back Up

Niagara Falls Police responded to LaSalle Waterfront Park around 5pm on July 31st after reports that a male victim was punched in the face by an unknown male.

Upon arrival, police spoke with officers already on scene who stated the victim was highly intoxicated and uncooperative with him. Officers then made contact with a witness who stated an unknown male was speaking with the victim when both individuals started to square up. Both the male and victim then started to throw punches at one another.

Sadly for the victim, he was hit square in the face, likely with a right hook, that caused him to hit the ground. He did not get back up. The male fled in an unknown direction.

Officers then spoke with another witness who stated he saw the victim and male speaking as if they “were having a good time” until both started to fight. Like the first witness, he described how the victim was hit so hard in the face he fell backwards hitting his head on the ground. He stayed with the victim until Niagara Falls Fire and AMR arrived to render aid and medical treatment.

There was blood on the ground where the victim was laying in addition to blood covering the front of his body. Officers observed serious injuries to the back of his head and nose. He was transported to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center for treatment.

Police do not have a known suspect at this time. No further information is available.
