On 12/14/24 at 0425 hours, Deputy Bull observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation in the area of Schultz Road in the Town of Wheatfield. Deputy Bull activated his lights and sirens and the vehicle failed to yield, continuing northbound on Schultz Road.
The vehicle struck a stop sign at Schultz and Moyer Roads, causing it to become trapped under the suspect vehicle. The suspect vehicle fled southbound on Shawnee Road and continued onto Erie Avenue in the City of North Tonawanda.
The vehicle crossed over Division and Twin Cities Memorial Highway continuing onto the railroad tracks. The vehicle lost control and drove into the landscaping at 525 Wheatfield Street. The suspect vehicle became stuck on the landscape blocks.
The six occupants fled the vehicle on foot. Four of the six occupants were detained by patrol units. The occupants were all identified as juvenile males. The juvenile’s guardians were notified and responded to the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office.
The suspect vehicle was reported stolen on 12/13/24 out of the Town of Grand Island. The juveniles were charged with Criminal possession of stolen property in the 3rd degree (D Felony), Obstruction of Governmental Administration 2nd (A-misdemeanor), Unlawful Fleeing of a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle 3rd (A-misdemeanor) and numerous vehicle and traffic citations.
The juveniles were released on appearance tickets to their parents in accordance with the juvenile arrest procedures of New York State. The juveniles
