Niagara Falls Police were patrolling in the area of Niagara Street around 9:00pm on June 24th when they observed a male known to have four outstanding warrants with the City of Niagara Falls.

Both officers were familiar with the male through several previous encounters. Once officers engaged with the male he took off running.

The male was told to stop running several times and failed to comply. One officer pursued him on foot and the other attempted to cut him off at another location. Officers employed use of force to subdue the suspect (there was no official Niagara Falls Police Department Use of Force supplemental report provided with the police report to describe what this entailed).

Officers requested AMR and the male was taken to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center for a medical evaluation. He received medical treatment and, after being deemed fit for confinement, was transported to police headquarters for booking and processing.
