Niagara Falls Police responded to the 6900 block of Niagara Falls Boulevard around 8pm on August 12th after reports of a mental health check that would late become a trespass.
While traveling to the location, officers were advised that a white male was pushing shopping carts into the roadway around the 7000 block of Niagara Falls Boulevard near Tops. Shortly thereafter, officers were notified of a second call stating that the same male was in the Basil Ford parking lot and would not leave.
Upon arrival, officers observed the male sitting on a vehicle that he did not own. He was immediately detained and placed in the rear of a patrol vehicle. Officers then went and spoke with one of the managers of the car dealership who stated that he asked the male to leave the property because he was inside yelling at staff and customers. His actions were causing people to be uncomfortable and, in some cases, fearful of what he might do next as he seemed unhinged.
Although the male left the inside of the dealership, he remained on the property. Management of Basil Ford requested that he be trespassed from the property. The male was transported to police headquarters for booking and processing and released with an appearance ticket.
