A two-vehicle crash in West Seneca on Sunday evening resulted in serious injuries for two individuals, according to Police Lieutenant Jonathan Luterek. The incident occurred on Clinton Street near Borden Road where both vehicles were traveling eastbound at the time of the collision.
Preliminary investigations suggest that a Toyota RAV4, driven by a 48-year-old male, rear-ended a minivan driven by a 78-year-old female. The impact of the collision caused the striking vehicle to flip over and come to rest in the northwest part of the intersection of Clinton Street and Borden Road. The minivan, on the other hand, landed in a collision shop parking lot, colliding with several parked vehicles, as described by Lieutenant Luterek.
Emergency services swiftly responded to the scene and both drivers were transported to Erie County Medical Center (ECMC) with serious injuries. The exact nature and extent of their injuries have not been disclosed at this time.
An accident investigation unit remains at the scene to gather evidence and determine the cause of the crash. The West Seneca Police Department is working diligently to piece together the events leading up to the collision. Further updates regarding the incident will be provided as the investigation progresses. Anyone with information regarding the crash is encouraged to contact the West Seneca Police Department to assist in the investigation.
