Two Charged in False Bomb Threat at Local University

Two individuals have been charged in connection with an alleged false bomb threat that occurred at Fredonia University last week, according to the Fredonia Police Department. Jayden Feaster, 20, and Melinda Jackson, 45, both homeless, are facing charges of falsely reporting an incident.

The incident unfolded when the police received a call around 8am on Thursday regarding an occupant of a vehicle using a gun to honk the horn at the Crosby's on East Main Street in Fredonia. Upon arrival, officers noticed towels and blankets obstructing their view into the car. Feaster and Jackson, who were inside the vehicle, claimed that there was a bomb present.

As a precautionary measure, the area was immediately evacuated and a section of the vicinity was closed for several hours throughout the morning. After a thorough investigation, it was determined that a BB/pellet gun had been used to honk the horn, and there was no actual explosive device in the car.

Following the incident, both Feaster and Jackson were released on appearance tickets and are scheduled to appear in court at a later date to address the charges against them. The Fredonia Police Department commended the swift response of its officers in ensuring the safety of the community during the incident.
