Twisted Tea Thief Targets Niagara Falls Family Dollar (again)

Niagara Falls Police responded to Family Dollar on Portage Road around 1pm on November 3rd after reports of a shoplifter.

Prior to their arrival, NFPD dispatch advised officers that the suspect was described as a black male wearing a tan jacket with red sneakers on. Officers did indeed locate that party in a nearby Tops parking lot.

The suspect was detained and admitted to police that he stole alcoholic beverages. He pulled a can of Twisted Tea from under his hoodie and gave it to officers. Police placed him in the rear of their patrol vehicle.

Officers relocated to Family Dollar where they spoke to an employee. She stated the suspect entered the store and started walking around.

The employee was familiar with the suspect as he “frequently steals from this store.” She did see the suspect conceal merchandise underneath his clothes but was unsure of the specific item(s).

She then observed him take an alcoholic beverage but was unable to stop him. The value of the stolen property is $3.51.

Officers transported the suspect to police headquarters for booking and processing. He was released with an appearance ticket.
