Niagara Falls Police responded to 10 Rainbow Boulevard on May 24th after reports of a tourist’s rental vehicle being broken into and valuable items taken.
Upon arrival, police spoke with the complainant who had arrived in Niagara Falls on vacation with his family earlier that day. They parked their rental vehicle in a visitor parking lot near Niagara Falls State Park around 12:30pm.
The plan was to explore the area, ride the famous Maid of the Mist boat ride, and eat a late lunch.
The complainant stated his child has allergies and needed his medication. At approx. 3:30pm he walked back to the vehicle and observed the passenger side window of the rental vehicle to be broken. He opened the door and discovered that his Apple MacBook laptop and Samsung cell phone were stolen. The value of both is estimated at $1,500.00.
