Tourist Doesn't Know to Lock His Rental, Almost $500 Worth of Property Stolen (Including Crocs)


Niagara Falls Police responded to the Quality Inn on the 200 block of 1st Street around 12pm on July 15th after reports that a rental vehicle, belonging to a tourist, was broken into almost $500 worth of property stolen.



Upon arrival, police spoke with the out-of-state complainant who said personal items were stolen out of his rental vehicle sometime between10pm on July 14th and this morning. His 2024 Hyundai Sonata Hertz rental was parked in the rear lot of the Quality Inn during the time frame. During this time an unknown suspect entered his unlocked vehicle and stole the following items: a pair of Nike Jordan’s valued at $300, a pair of Crocs valued at $60, a makeup bag containing various items valued at $100, and a driver’s license.



There were no known witnesses and police are reviewing any surveillance footage available. No further information is available.
