Niagara Falls, ON: A violent altercation in Niagara Falls left a Toronto man hospitalized after he was stabbed on Queen Street near Erie Avenue.
Authorities responded to the incident in the evening hours of March 27th at approximately 8:45pm, discovering a 66-year-old victim suffering from gruesome injuries. Due to the severity of his condition, he was quickly transported to a specialized trauma center outside the area where he underwent emergency surgery. Medical officials have since confirmed that he is now in stable condition.
The suspect fled the scene immediately after the attack, but law enforcement swiftly tracked him down just 25 minutes later on St. Clair Avenue. The individual, identified as 35-year-old Luizao Miguel Castro, was taken into custody. He now faces charges of aggravated assault along with multiple probation violations.
Authorities have yet to find the weapon involved in the assault. An investigation is ongoing.
