A 17-year-old Buffalo teen, Klaw Reh, remains in critical condition following an accident involving a garbage truck earlier this month. The incident occurred on Rhode Island Street just before 8:20am on October 2nd as Reh was walking to school.
In a statement released on Saturday, attorney Charles Desmond provided an update on Reh's condition, revealing that he has not left Oishei Children’s Hospital since the accident. Desmond described the life-altering impact of the incident, stating, “In the blink of an eye, and through no fault of his own, Klaw’s life, and the lives of those closest to him, were forever changed.”
He added that Reh is currently battling serious injuries and has undergone multiple surgical procedures with more anticipated in the future. Reh's family and friends have been by his side praying for his recovery.
Following the accident, the garbage truck driver involved was taken into custody at the Seneca Street garage. Buffalo police later revealed that the 46-year-old driver of the truck was operating it with a suspended CDL at the time of the crash. The driver reportedly sought to reinstate her license after the incident.
Steinfeld recounted the amusing moment, saying, "I got this knife for Josh last year for The incident is still under investigation by Buffalo police and the Erie County District Attorney’s Office. As of now, no charges have been filed against the driver who is suspended without pay.
