Teen Arrested for Tire Slashing and Outdoor Urination at Local Fire House

A 17-year-old has been arrested by Amherst police following an incident at the Ellicott Creek Volunteer Fire Company where three young individuals were reported to have urinated outside the fire station and slashed tires on firefighters' personal vehicles. The fire company brought attention to the incident last month through a Facebook post seeking assistance from the public in identifying the juveniles.

The incident occurred late on July 25th in the parking lot of the fire station located at 45 S. Ellicott Creek Road off Niagara Falls Boulevard. The exact number of vehicles vandalized during the incident has not been reported. The fire company shared images captured from surveillance video that depicted the three boys involved in the act, asking the public to provide any assistance possible with identifying them.

Shortly after, Ellicott Creek Fire Company provided an update stating that the teenagers had been identified and that Amherst police were investigating the matter. This week, Amherst Police Captain Kevin Brown confirmed that a 17-year-old was charged with third-degree criminal mischief, a felony offense, as a result of that investigation. There has been no explanation given by police as to why only one out of the three juveniles photographed were charged with a crime.
