Niagara Falls Police responded to the 200 block of Portage Road around 12:30am on December 18th after reports of an unwanted person.
Officers were requested to remove a male who was being aggressive and intoxicated from the residence. The male was slurring his words and officers observed bloodshot eyes. There was also a heavy order of fruity alcoholic beverages.
Officers attempted to de-escalate the male. However, he became more aggressive and yelled at both officers and parties on scene. While escorting the male, he pushed an officer outside the residence.
The male then bladed his body and took a fighting stance, clenching his fists. Officers were in fear for their safety and fearful that the male was going to attack them.
The male was taken down with use of force and placed under arrest. During the encounter, the male made many aggressive statements claiming that he was going to "fight us and take our jobs."
Due to the force used to subdue him, AMR was requested to the scene. He was transported to police headquarters for booking and processing. While in booking, the male made complaints of pain to his right leg.
He was issued an appearance ticket and then transported to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center for treatment. No further information is available at this time.
