Niagara Falls Police responded to the 9100 block of Saint John’s Parkway around 1:00am on August 23rd after reports of a larceny from a vehicle. Upon arrival, officers were met by the complainant who said his “car was left unlocked and broken into.”
He stated that at around 11pm on August 22nd his neighbor in another apartment saw a white male inside of his vehicle. The neighbor scared him off and then went downstairs to get the complainant.
When the complainant got out to his car, it was ransacked. The glovebox was open and the car had been rummaged through. The only thing that was taken was a pair of brown Thorogood work boots size 11, which have an estimated value of $160 (brings a whole new meaning to 'if the shoe fits').
Officers then spoke to the neighbor who stated that at around 11pm he looked out his apartment window, which faces the parking lot, and observed a male breaking into another tenant’s vehicle. He yelled at the unknown suspect who immediately ran away.
The suspect was described as a white male in his early 30’s, approx. 5’6” tall, medium build with a mustache. He was wearing a white shirt, black pants and carrying two grocery-style bags that appeared to be full of items. No further information is available at this time.
