Becker Farms and Vizcarra Vineyards are registering teams to “Stomp Out Pediatric Cancer” in observation of Pediatric cancer awareness month. Each team of 6 will participate in a relay race to see who can stomp the most juice from fresh estate-grown concord grapes held on Saturday, September 9th, at 11:00 a.m. For each team and spectator ticket purchased, a portion of the ticket goes to the Courage of Carly Fund of Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. Tickets include a full day of activity, including grape stomping contests, food and prizes, a 50/50 raffle draw, a live DJ and band, and fall-themed events.
Becker Farms and Vizcarra Vineyards is a 5th Generation family-owned 340-acre working fruit and vegetable farm that sells most of its products directly to the public. The Concord Grape Stomp returns after a short hiatus following 14 years of this annual contest and family fun day. The Concord Grape Stomp allows teams of stompers of any age to kick off their boots and smash grapes! Prizes include tickets, vouchers, wine, and a wine-tasting party.
This year a portion of the ticket proceeds will support the Courage of Carly Fund, which gives children with cancer and blood disorders the fighting chance they deserve by providing children, teens, and their families, everything from unforgettable moments and family events to financial support and promising scientific research. Fall-themed events include access to the garden market, beer garden, brew pub, apple barn, playground, petting zoo, mega slide, jumping pillow, goat races, pedal carts, mountain slingshots, wagon rides, and more.
“We are pleased to offer this unique grape stomping experience again,” said Amanda Vizcarra, Director of Hospitality at Becker Farms. “This year is extra special for us as we gather for a day of fun and friendly competition while donating funds to an organization that has been instrumental to the WNY community, Roswell Park, and the Courage of Carly Fund.”
Tickets are $240.00 for a team of six (6) people, and spectators are $15 with advance purchase requested with $5 of each ticket going to the Courage of Carly Fund. Becker Farms donated 200 tickets to the organization for those impacted by pediatric cancer to enjoy the farm all weekend. Apple Picking and visits to the farm without ticketing continue Monday through Friday.
