Niagara Falls Police responded to Tops on Portage Road around 2:00pm on June 23rd after reports of a female who concealed stolen grocery items in her clothing.
Upon arrival, police spoke with an employee of Tops who stated he observed the female select seven items off of the shelf, conceal them in her clothing, and then pass all points of purchase without rendering payment. The total value of stolen items was $46.40. The stolen grocery items that were concealed inside various clothes the female was wearing (shirt, bra, or pants) were “returned to Tops for resale,” according to the employee.
Tops wished to press charges against the female. She was issued an appearance ticket returnable at Niagara Falls City Court. No further information is available.
