In the early hours of Sunday, June 30th, a single-vehicle crash on I-190 in Buffalo resulted in the death of one individual and left another with severe injuries. The New York State Police reported that the incident occurred when the vehicle lost control and collided with the end of a median.
According to authorities, the police received a distress call at approximately 2:10am regarding a one-vehicle crash on southbound I-190 near the Niagara Street exit. Upon arrival, officers discovered a Nissan Altima that had crashed into the end of the Exit 8 deceleration ramp median.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the Nissan Altima was traveling at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control of the vehicle, leading to the collision with the median. The driver, identified as 20-year-old Damaree M. Lattimore from Hamburg, tragically succumbed to his injuries at the scene. His body was subsequently transported to Erie County Medical Center (ECMC) for an autopsy.
A 19-year-old passenger, who was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, was ejected from the vehicle upon impact. The passenger sustained severe injuries and was immediately attended to by emergency medical personnel. As of now, there has been no update on the passenger's condition.
