Niagara Falls Police responded to Legends Park around 2:00am on June 28th after reports of shots fired that later, after an investigation, ended up being a shootout with at least four victims who went to the hospital for treatment.
Upon arrival, there was a large crowd of people dispersing from Legends Park. Multiple people were asked what happened. Some stated it was “firecrackers” or that they “did not know what happened.” All parties officers spoke with were very uncooperative and did not give any names or further details of what transpired.
While on scene, Niagara Falls Police Dispatch aired that there were two victims at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center with gunshot wounds. Officers were then advised that two teenagers, 17 and 15, arrived at NFMMC with injuries as well. One of the juveniles was treated at NFMMC and the other was transported to Oishei Children’s Hospital. Altogether, four known victims were hospitalized as a result of the shooting at Legends Park.
Back at Legends Park, officers located one shell casing and three bikes on the sidewalk. Officers then located another scene in the parking lot of Legends Park with twenty-two (22) shell casings. Both scenes were secured by police. No further information is available.
