As the Buffalo Bills prepare to face off against the Denver Broncos in a wild-card playoff game on Sunday, January 12th at Highmark Stadium, a friendly wager was made between the Erie County Sheriff's Office and the Denver Sheriff's Department.
In a spirited social media post, Erie County Sheriff John C. Garcia announced the bet, stating that if the Bills emerge victorious, the Denver Sheriff's Department will send a selection of Colorado steaks to Erie County. Oppositely, should the Broncos win, the Erie County Sheriff's Office will treat the Denver team to La Nova chicken wings, a local favorite.
Sheriff Garcia excitement over the friendly wager, saying, “The Erie County Sheriff’s Office is proud to work with the Buffalo Bills all season long to keep Highmark Stadium safe. We are looking forward to the Wild Card matchup with the Broncos, just as much as we are looking forward to enjoying lunch on Sheriff Diggins and the fine men and women of the Denver Sheriff Department. Go Bills!”
In response, Denver Sheriff Elias Diggins accepted the wager, stating, “We gladly accept Sheriff Garcia and the Erie County Sheriff’s Office friendly wager. We look forward to Buffalo's famous chicken wings when our Denver Broncos roll into Buffalo and as we say out west, get-er-done.”
