Sheriff's Office Releases Identities of Two Niagara Falls Residents Dead After Rollover Crash

On August 25th, 2024, at 15:14 hours, the Niagara County Sheriff's Office Communications Center received multiple calls reporting a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Lower Mountain Road and Baer Road in the Town of Cambria. NCSO patrol arrived and discovered a two-car motor vehicle collision involving a 2009 Ford pickup truck and a 2006 Mercury sedan.



Initial investigation at the scene revealed that the Ford pickup truck was traveling northbound on Baer Road when it failed to stop at the stop sign at Lower Mountain Road. The 2006 Mercury was traveling westbound on Lower Mountain and collided with the pickup truck as it entered the intersection. The collision caused the pickup truck to roll onto its side.



The parties involved in the fatal motor vehicle accident have been identified as follows: The operator of the north bound 2009 Ford pickup truck was seventy-two year old John P. Deeter Senior of Niagara Falls. The deceased back seat passenger of the pickup was seventy-one year old Mary R. Ryan also of Niagara Falls.


The driver of the west bound 2009 Mercury sedan was seventy-eight year old Karen L. Dunch of Lockport. Several other injured passengers continue to recover from injuries suffered in the collision. Investigation by the Niagara County Sheriff's Office Accident Investigation Unit into the incident is continuing.
