Three individuals have lost their lives due to the severe lake-effect snow in Western New York, confirmed Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz on Wednesday.

A 64-year-old male died while shoveling snow on Monday. A 41-year-old man was victim to a hit-and-run incident in Cheektowaga the same day. On Tuesday, also in Cheektowaga, a 57-year-old woman was discovered deceased next to her snow blower.
According to Poloncarz, all these fatalities can be connected to the ongoing snowstorm.
