Niagara Falls Police responded to Home Depot around 1:30pm on May 28th after reports of a robber taking packaging off items and concealing them in his rubber boots.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with store personnel who stated that there was a white male inside the store cutting the packaging off items and concealing them inside of his clothing and boots.
Officers went to aisle ten where the suspect was and confronted him - grabbed his right arm and gave him a verbal command to place his hands behind his back. The male identified himself and dropped a large pocketknife that he was holding.
Officers located multiple items in the suspect’s pockets and in his rubber boots. In total, he concealed $273 worth of merchandise.
The suspect was transported to police headquarters for booking and released with an appearance ticket. No further information is available at this time.
