A road rage incident in Amherst on Thanksgiving night resulted in one man being injured and another facing charges. The shooting occurred around 8:30pm on the 900 block of Millersport Highway where officers found a 24-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the thigh.
Medical personnel transported the injured man to ECMC for treatment. His condition has not been publicly disclosed. However, is is in stable condition and suffered non life-threatening injuries.
Authorities arrested 32-year-old Keith Pritchett of Buffalo shortly after the incident at his home. He was charged with first-degree assault, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and first-degree reckless endangerment. Police believe that the shooting was a result of a road rage confrontation between the two individuals involved.
Pritchett is currently being held in custody and is awaiting arraignment. An investigation into the matter is ongoing.
