Beaver Island State Park
About:
Only five miles south of Niagara Falls is a treasure tucked away in a secluded part of an island in the middle of the Niagara River. Beaver Island State Park is located on the south end of Grand Island along the upper Niagara River. Within this 950 acre park is a sandy beach stretching for half a mile. The outdoor enthusiasts have called it a slice of heaven because of its bike and nature trails, fishing access, playgrounds. There’s also a Blue Heron Disc Golf Course featuring an 18-hole, par 66, course about 4,000 yards long. During the winter months you’ll find people sledding, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling.
