Western New York is set to experience a few inches of snow, which may lengthen the time taken for morning commutes on Tuesday.
A winter weather advisory for Monday evening through Tuesday morning has been issued for all of Western New York by The National Weather Service Buffalo, alongside a winter storm warning for Chautauqua County. Lake-effect rainfall across Western New York will transition to snow by Monday evening, leading to build-up that is likely to create messy driving conditions on Tuesday.
Approximately 8 to 10 inches of snow is forecasted for Chautauqua County, 4 to 6 inches for southern Erie, and around 1 to 3 inches for the Buffalo metropolitan area.
Despite sub-zero temperatures predicted for Monday evening and Tuesday, a temperature increase to the 40s for the remainder of the week will result in the snow melting away.
