This may not be known to all, but beyond Niagara Falls there is a stunning countryside full of family owned and operated farms. Some of these farms are dedicated to fall activities with one of Niagara's favorite things to do; apple picking.
Apple picking season is fast approaching and if you know as well as I do, you have to prepare in advance before the good apples are gone! Here is the U-Pick apple picking schedule for Blackman Homestead Farm in Lockport, NY.

About:
For the last 6 generations, the Blackman family have owned this 165 year
old farm. This 160 acre farm has continued to produce high quality fruits and specialty products.
In 1971 Robert and Margaret Blackman took the leap and went out on a limb by starting their U-Pick fruit business and for over 50 years they have enjoyed the apple picking season with both its community and tourists looking to enjoy the landscape of the Niagara Escarpment.
Apple picking for the 2023 season starts mid-September and and continues throughout October. In addition to apple picking, Blackman Homestead Farm also has pressed cider, pumpkins, squash, specialty preserves and other locally produced agricultural products.
*This is a cash only farm, please ensure that you bring that with you!
