Niagara Falls Police responded to the Seneca Niagara Casino around 8:30am on November 21st after reports of an armed robbery.
Upon arrival, officers spoke to the victim who stated he was robbed of around $1,900 in casino vouchers and cash along with a new iPhone. The victim said he went to the casino with his buddy around 6pm and they gambled until around 3am which is when his friend left.
The victim decided to stick around and hung out with an “Indian male” that he and his friend had met earlier in the night. He and the Indian male gambled a little bit and around 4am the victim said he was ready to head out. The Indian male offered him a ride and he accepted.
The two left the casino and walked toward the Indian male’s vehicle, or so he thought. The Indian male led him to a random field near John B. Daly Blvd. where he turned around and said, “give me everything you have or I’ll shoot you in the head.” The Indian male then reached into his jacket pocket and gestured as if he had a gun.
The victim handed over cash and casino vouchers totaling $1,900 and an iPhone. He then ran back to the casino to report the robbery.
Casino staff was able to positively identify the suspect and a lookout description was placed over the air. Shortly thereafter, officers located the Indian male suspect who was still in the casino parking lot. He was brought back inside and positively identified as the suspect. Officers then transported him to police headquarters for booking and processing.
No further information is available at this time.
