Niagara Falls Police performed a premises check around 6pm on August 21st after reports of suspicious activity by a large group of people on 19th Street. Several officers responded to the location which is a known hotspot for narcotics activity, prostitution and illegal weapon possession.
Upon arriving at the location, several parties started to disperse. One of the parties was identified by police as having several warrants out of the City of Niagara Falls. After seeing police, he immediately fled from officers and headed northbound through the alleyways between Ashland Avenue and LaSalle Avenue. He also ran through several residential yards.
Officers gave chase and multiple commands were given to “stop” and “you are under arrest,” but he refused to comply. One officer was able to catch up to the male and forcibly placed him in handcuffs.
The male was transported to police headquarters for booking and processing on all three warrants and booked on a new charge of resisting arrest. No further information is available at this time.
