Peter Chenier Announces Bid for North Tonawanda School Board
By: Staff Reporter
The announcement below was released by Peter Chenier Jr. who is running for the North Tonawanda School Board.
My name is Peter Chenier Jr. and I am running for North Tonawanda’s Board of Education. I have been a resident of North Tonawanda nearly all my life and am currently raising my two sons, Christopher and Nicholas, with my wife, Jennifer, whom I’ve been married to for almost 16 years. Over the past 20 years, I’ve dedicated my life to the residents and City of North Tonawanda and want to continue doing so by being a part of the North Tonawanda Board of Education.
I am currently a 21-year veteran volunteer firefighter with Sweeney Hose Co. #7. For the past 15+ years, I’ve held multiple positions within their board of directors ranging from Director, Treasurer and most recently, Vice President. For over a decade, I was part of the Canal Fest Board of Directors holding the top four positions of President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. I stepped down in 2018 as I decided to pursue my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. I graduated in 2020. I have spent a great deal of time in financial positions within these organizations managing budgets and profit and loss statements.
I bring a wealth of experience in leadership, finance and business administration. I currently work for one of the largest distributors in the world. I manage a billion dollar business that is responsible for sales targets, profitability, managing employees and sustaining strong relationships between our company and our vendors.
If elected for North Tonawanda’s School Board, I want to be available for the parents, teachers and students focusing on student growth and development. I want to maintain fiscal responsibility around holding the tax line without cutting services or resources. It is important to me to ensure there is transparency with each decision that takes place within the district, as well as keeping everyone informed at all times.
I’m a self-motivated individual who has dedicated nearly half of my life to public service. I am passionate about what I am involved in and have had success over the years across multiple organizations. I believe I can contribute positively to the district’s success while contributing to our great community.
I ask that you consider voting for me in this year’s Board of Education elections to continue to push the district forward.
