NT Mayor Clarifies His Office Did not Endorse Group Going Door-to-Door

By: Staff Reporter

Mayor Austin Tylec from North Tonawanda released the following statement as it pertains to individuals going door-to-door in NT:

It has come to my attention that an organization going door to door with information about a state program are claiming it is Endorsed by The Mayors Office/The City. This is not true, and we have notified them that they do not have the ability to say so. Organizations & businesses that provide information, products, programs, etc. door to door are required to get something called a Peddlers Permit through the city, along with a background check from our Police Dept. It is typically a standard request, but does not constitute any type of endorsement from The City. If anyone is approached by one of these vendors claiming a city endorsement, please contact me so we can address it. Thank you and I apologize for any inconvenience or confusion.
