A woman from Niagara Falls has been sentenced to a decade in state prison following her involvement in a brutal kidnapping and assault of a 77-year-old man in the Town of Niagara. Ashley McMillen, 35, entered a guilty plea as part of a deal with prosecutors admitting to a charge of second-degree kidnapping.
In a plea agreement, she was sentenced by Niagara County Court Judge John Ottaviano to 10 years in prison followed by five years of post-release supervision. McMillen had previously been released on a $100,000 bond.
Her co-defendant, Gregory Perry, 31, is also facing multiple charges including first-degree kidnapping and second-degree robbery in connection with the same case. Perry pleaded not guilty to all charges and has been held without bail at the Niagara County jail.
The violent nature of the attack was discovered when law enforcement responded to a missing persons report. The victim’s son alerted authorities to his disappearance leading to a police investigation. Officers discovered the elderly man bound and beaten senseless in a bathroom, barely clinging on to life.
Officers from the Town of Niagara Police and the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office forced entry into a trailer in Cayuga Village where they found the victim.
The victim was transported to the ECMC where he received treatment for life-threatening injuries. Fortunately, he is now recovering.
