Niagara Falls Police were dispatched to 56th Street around 9pm on October 15th after reports of a stolen vehicle.
While en route, dispatch advised over the air that a vehicle matching the victim’s stolen vehicle was found abandoned/crashed. Officers relocated to that location and found no occupants inside the vehicle.
Back at 56th Street, officers spoke with the complainant who stated he arrived to his house at 8:15pm to clean because he was moving out. Officers observed the house to be empty and cleaning supplies inside. While cleaning, the complainant parked his vehicle in the rear of the house on a concrete pad accessible by alley only. However, he left the keys on the driver’s seat.
The complainant stated he had taken garbage out at 8:30pm and the vehicle was still there. 30 minutes later he exited the house and discovered the vehicle had been stolen. It was around this time that the officer learned that the complainant’s vehicle had crashed.
The complainant wished to press charges against whomever stole and crashed the vehicle. The crashed vehicle was towed. There are no known suspects. No further information is available at this time.
