Niagara Falls Schools Partners with Chamber of Commerce to Connect Students with Business Professionals

Niagara Falls Schools has launched a new initiative in collaboration with the Niagara USA Chamber of Commerce to provide high school students with practical business experience and connect them with local business professionals. The Niagara USA Business Education Initiative aims to bridge the gap between classroom knowledge and real-world applications. Through this partnership, students in the Niagara Falls School District will have the opportunity to receive firsthand insights from professionals in various fields.

The initiative seeks to enhance existing business education programs by incorporating real-world perspectives and experiences shared by Chamber members. Mark Laurrie, the superintendent of the Niagara Falls School District, expressed pride in this new initiative, stating, "Making private sector expertise and experience available to our students is invaluable. This program will provide our students with practical knowledge and skills that are crucial for their success in the real world."

The Niagara USA Business Education Initiative will focus on areas such as finance, entrepreneurship, marketing, networking, and more. Chamber members will share their experiences and expertise with students, offering valuable insights into the business world. Kory Schuler, the Executive Director of the Niagara USA Chamber, expressed excitement about the program emphasizing the importance of connecting the business community with the educational system.

"By investing in the future leaders of our community and fostering a culture of continuous learning and development, we are building a strong partnership between the chamber and the school district," Schuler said. "We look forward to seeing the positive impact this program will have on the students."

To ensure the success of the initiative, the Chamber will recruit a diverse range of professional speakers who are trained to educate and engage with Niagara Falls students. School educators will collaborate with the Chamber to select speakers and topics that align with the current curriculum, enhancing the students' understanding of business concepts.

Beyond the classroom, the Niagara USA Business Education Initiative also aims to foster connections between students and business professionals. By creating opportunities for networking and mentorship, the program seeks to provide students with valuable industry connections that can extend beyond their academic journey.
