Niagara Falls Police Department Sends Patch and Coin to Child Battling Cancer

By: Staff Reporter

The Niagara Falls Police Department heard the call of a pediatric cancer patient in need of police memorabilia and came to the rescue!

A post to support a pediatric cancer patient currently at Pittsburgh Children’s Hospital swept across social media platforms on Thursday, January 27th, 2022.

“We are sending Joshua a patch and challenge coin tomorrow,” wrote the NFPD on Facebook. “God bless you buddy!”

The boy’s name is Joshua and he is currently battling cancer.

Lately, things have not been going well for Joshua. His health is declining and the treatments have been hard on him.

Despite that, Joshua finds happiness in collecting police patches. He also enjoys opening mail with letters addressed to him.

The Niagara Action commends the Niagara Falls Police Department for giving Joshua a reason to smile and encourages other departments throughout Western New York to do so as well!

If you have a patch you can send him his family would be eternally grateful to you. Or even if you do not have a patch and just want to send a letter; it would put a smile on Joshua’s face.

The address is: Children’s Hospital,Joshua Eastman 9B, 4401 Penn Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15224.
