Dominique L. Castile, a 36-year-old resident of Niagara Falls, has pleaded guilty to charges of Manslaughter in the First Degree and Assault in the Second Degree in connection with two separate stabbings, according to Niagara County District Attorney Brian D. Seaman. The announcement was made this afternoon.
Castile admitted to fatally stabbing 33-year-old Stefhon Hilson on January 1, 2023, and also confessed to another stabbing incident that occurred five days earlier on December 27, 2022. The guilty pleas were entered during the court proceedings. As a result of his guilty pleas, Castile now faces a potential prison sentence of up to 25 years.
The sentencing hearing is scheduled for October 18th. The District Attorney emphasized that this outcome brings closure to Mr. Hilson's family and removes a dangerous individual from the community. The investigation into the stabbings was conducted by the Niagara Falls Police Department and the case was prosecuted by First Assistant District Attorney Doreen Hoffmann and Assistant District Attorney David DeChellis.
The Niagara County District Attorney's Office commends the diligent work of law enforcement and the prosecution team in ensuring that justice is served.
