A Niagara Falls man is facing felony charges after allegedly contacting a woman over 187 times within a span of three days in violation of an active stay-away order of protection. The Livingston County Sheriff's Office conducted an investigation into the harassment-related incident leading to the arrest of Raymond Cragle Jr., 26.
On July 27th, Cragle was charged with first-degree criminal contempt, a class E felony, and second-degree aggravated harassment. The Livingston County Sheriff's Office confirmed that all of the alleged contacts occurred while the stay-away order of protection was in effect, elevating the charges to a felony offense.
The investigation was initiated on July 26th when deputies responded to a report of a harassment-related incident at an address on Jenks Road in the town of Lima. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the victim who identified Raymond Cragle Jr. as the suspect. Cragle was taken into custody and transferred to Central Booking deputies at the Livingston County Jail for processing and pre-arraignment detention.
The Livingston County District Attorney's Office requested that Cragle be held on either $1,500 cash bail or $10,000 secured bond. Subsequently, Cragle was arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part, presided over by Village of Mount Morris Justice Charlene Finnigan. The judge committed Cragle to the custody of the Sheriff and remanded him on either $1,500 cash bail or $10,000 secured bond.
