18-year-old Charged After Mass Shooting Threat Made Online Against Buffalo School

A male driver is facing several charges after a hit-and-run crash in the late hours of Saturday, October 5th. Niagara Falls Police and New York State Police responded to the incident around 11:30pm.

According to reports, the driver of a Dodge pickup truck collided with a Chevy Impala at the intersection of 72nd Street and Buffalo Avenue before fleeing the scene. The driver of the Impala pursued the pickup until it eventually came to a stop on the LaSalle Expressway.

The driver of the Dodge exited the vehicle, jumped over a guardrail and tumbled down an embankment. A nearby resident on 71st Street heard someone calling for help from the wooded area along the expressway, which was later identified as the operator of the Dodge pickup.

State Police and Niagara Falls Police located the injured driver near the 400 block of 71st Street. Emergency responders from Niagara Falls Fire and AMR evaluated the male who sustained an apparent leg injury from the fall. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

As police continued their investigation into the crash, another driver in a black Tesla approached officers at the scene to report that their vehicle had also been struck by the Dodge pickup. Luckily, the driver of the Tesla nor the Chevy Impala sustained any injuries.

The male operator of the Dodge pickup now faces charges related to the hit-and-run incidents. The investigation remains ongoing.
