A Niagara Falls man with a long history of drug convictions spanning nearly three decades has been arrested and charged with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl. Levester Rose, 46, was arrested on Thursday after investigators executed a search warrant at a residence on 26th Street.
The arrest of Rose comes as a result of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation in Niagara Falls which involved the collaborative efforts of the Buffalo FBI Safe Streets Task Force, North Tonawanda Police Department, Niagara Falls Police Department, and Niagara County Sheriff's Office. The joint operation aims to combat the illegal drug trade and protect the community from the devastating effects of dangerous substances.
During the execution of the search warrant, law enforcement officials discovered packages containing a significant quantity of the synthetic opioid fentanyl. Fentanyl, known for its potency and potential for abuse, poses a grave threat to public health and safety.
Court documents reveal that Rose has a troubling history of prior convictions related to drug possession and sales. His criminal record includes convictions in 1995, 2013, 2014, and 2020. Rose is currently in custody.
Authorities urge anyone with information related to drug trafficking or suspicious activities to come forward and assist in the ongoing efforts to maintain the safety and well-being of the Niagara Falls community.
