The Niagara Falls Police Department is currently investigating a robbery/home invasion and shooting incident that occurred on the 500 block of Memorial Parkway Saturday afternoon.

Niagara Falls Police were dispatched to the scene around 1:40pm in response to a reported robbery. However, while en route they received information that a gunshot victim was also involved.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with a 25-year-old male who had sustained a gunshot wound to his upper leg. Medical assistance was provided by the Niagara Falls Fire Department and AMR who swiftly arrived at the scene. The injured individual was transported by ambulance to Erie County Medical Center (ECMC) for further treatment.

Preliminary reports suggest that the male victim was shot during a home invasion. It is believed that two suspects forcibly entered his apartment and proceeded to rob him before the shooting occurred. The exact details of the robbery and the items stolen have not been disclosed at this time.

In response to the incident, detectives from the Niagara Falls Police Department have taken over the investigation. They are diligently working to gather evidence, interview witnesses, and piece together the sequence of events leading up to the robbery and shooting.

Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the incident to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation. The safety and security of the community remain a top priority for the Niagara Falls Police Department and they are determined to bring the perpetrators to justice.

Updates on the case will be provided as more information becomes available.
