Niagara Falls Firefighters Rescue Dog from House Fire

In an early Sunday morning rescue, firefighters successfully saved a dog from a house fire on 77th Street in Niagara Falls. The incident occurred around 12:15am on the 500 block of 77th Street.

Niagara Falls Fire, Police and Medical responded to the scene. Upon arrival, firefighters were met with heavy flames engulfing the rear of the home. By that time, the fire had spread to an adjacent camper and garage.

NFPD quickly extinguished the fire. Occupants of the home were not present during the blaze. However, a concerned neighbor alerted first responders that there might be a dog trapped inside the structure.

Firefighters immediately conducted a thorough search of the premises and discovered the dog inside a crate on the first floor. The canine was safely brought out of the house where medics provided oxygen to help revive it. Fortunately, the dog is expected to be okay.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
