Niagara Falls Applebee's Stabbing Update, Suspect Arrested After Critically Injuring Employee


UPDATE

On October 1st, 2024 at approximately 1507 hours, the Niagara County Sheriff's Office responded to Applebee's restaurant to assist Town of Niagara Police with a report of a stabbing involving two employees. After an investigation by the Niagara County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Bureau, Sam M. Keesler, 34 of Niagara Falls, NY was charged with one count of Assault in the 2nd Degree (D Felony). Keesler was arraigned in CAP court and remanded to the Niagara County Correctional Facility on $50,000.00 cash bail.



ORIGINAL STORY

A violent altercation between two employees at Applebee's in Niagara Falls on Military Road resulted in one man being hospitalized with stab wounds and another suffering self-inflicted injuries. The incident occurred just after 3pm on Tuesday.


According to the Town of Niagara Police, the confrontation began in the kitchen before escalating outside the restaurant. Officers arrived on the scene to find an ongoing altercation and intervened.



Law enforcement ordered the suspect to drop the knife several times. When the suspect failed to comply, police and Niagara County Deputies deployed stun guns. The suspect was disarmed and taken into custody.


The victim, who was losing blood, sustained several stab wounds to his upper torso and was airlifted to ECMC for treatment. Police state that he is expected to recover. The suspect was transported to ECMC via ambulance due to self-inflicted wounds to his hands.



The investigation into the incident is ongoing. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
