Niagara County Man Sentenced for Bicyclist's Death Caused by Airsoft Gun

A 44-year-old man from Lockport has been sentenced to an indeterminate prison term of 2 to 6 years for the killing of a bicyclist using an airsoft gun. Kenneth James, 43, appeared before an Erie County Court Judge on Monday afternoon where he received his sentence after pleading guilty to one count of manslaughter in the second degree in March.



The incident occurred on August 14th, 2023, when James fired an airsoft gun at 38-year-old Joseph Dash who was riding his bicycle on Broadway near Krettner Street in the City of Buffalo. Investigators reported that the pellet struck Dash in the chest. The hit led to his death, which was confirmed by an autopsy.
