Niagara County Man Pleads Guilty to Murdering Sister

A Lockport man has pleaded guilty to the murder of his sister and is set to be sentenced to 20 years to life in prison, according to the Niagara County District Attorney’s Office. David Fermoile, 65, entered his plea on Friday in connection with the tragic death of his sister, 68-year-old Diane Fermoile-McAvoy.

The incident occurred on June 7th, 2023, at their home on Windermere Road. Officers were called to the residence to perform a welfare check after a visiting nurse was unable to make contact with Diane. Upon arrival, authorities discovered her deceased in the home, which launched an investigation into the gruesome circumstances surrounding her death.

David Fermoile, who lived at the home with their 98-year-old mother, was charged with her murder. He pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and is scheduled to be officially sentenced on December 11th.
